Oban-based student researches whales in America
This is University of the Highlands and Islands student Dominique Weilermann who is currently conducting research into humpback whales off the coast of New Hampshire, USA.
Dominique is studying for a BSc in Marine Science at SAMS ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ in Oban and is undertaking the research over the summer for her 4th year dissertation. Her trip has been supported by the ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ student development fund.
Dominique, who is originally from Germany, is passionate about marine conservation and hopes to work in this field once she graduates. She originally came to SAMS ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ as an exchange student from a German university but enjoyed her experience so much she decided to stay!
